Sticky Menu Settings Back To Top

Sticky Menu let you decide whether keep your navigation header fixed or not.

  • Login To the WordPress Dashboard.
  • Navigate to Velvet Options >> General Settings >> Active Sticky Menu

When you are on General Setting page, select Yes or No button from Active Sticky Menu and click Save Changes.

 

Mobile Menu Settings Back To Top

Velvet offers offcanvas menu for small screens and mobile devices. From Mobile Menu Settings, you switch menu position from right or left. Furthermore, you can change between Slide in on Top and Reveal menu animation from Mobile Menu Effect. Access the Mobile Menu Settings page from the following instruction.

  • Login To the WordPress Dashboard.
  • Navigate to Velvet Options >> Mobile Menu Settings

Installation Back To Top

Installing New Themes From WordPress Dashboard

Installing Velvet Theme is the same as enabling other WordPress themes. Just download velvet.zip and upload it on your site .

  • Login To the WordPress Dashboard
  • Navigate to >> Appearance >> Themes >> Add New >> Upload Theme
  • Select velvet.zip using Choose File button, click Open and press Install Now.

Page Title Background Image Back To Top

In the Velvet theme, you have noticed page title get overlaid over a background image. If you haven’t got me yet which background image I am talking about, have a look on the following image.

The Page Title Background allows to add a dedicated image or choose a solid color for the title background area. If you choose Color from Title Background Type instead of Image, It will add your defined color globally as title background.

On the other hands, If you want to keep the background as Image, the settings let you individually add an image for Service page, Portfolio page, Blog page, Author page, Tag page, Category page, Search page and 404 page. To access the Page Title Background Setting page, follow the instruction below.

  • Login To the WordPress Dashboard.
  • Navigate to Velvet Options >> Page Title Background

The Page Title Background looks like the following screenshot.

Note: Selecting your desired title background image, press Saves Changes to save new page settings for your site.

Typography Settings Back To Top

Velvet provides the support unlimited Google Fonts. From the Typography Settings page you can control Body and Heading typography. Access the Typography Settings page from the following instruction.

  • Login To the WordPress Dashboard.
  • Navigate to Velvet Options >> Typography Settings

Note: Selecting your desired font and font styles, press Saves Changes to save new typography settings for your site.

Install Demo Contents & Widgets Back To Top

To run the setup you have to install Velvet theme first. After activating the theme successfully, you get an option run Setup wizard on the Appearance >> Themes page. Have a look on the image below.

If you don’t find the option there or want to rerun Setup Wizard, click Velvet Setup Widget from the Appearance setting.

The last click will launch a window to let you start the setup process. If you want to proceed to turn your WordPress into the demo of Velvet , click Let’s go.

In this step, the wizard install all the required plugin of Velvet. To Install all of them select Continue button. It might take near about 1 minute. Installation time fluctuates depending on your internet speed.

Now you will get options to add demo content, menu options, widget settings, theme options and configure reading settings. If you want to install all the priorly defined settings and content altogether, hit Continue button or uncheck unwanted data and then proceed.

Though you can change the logo image from Appearance → Customize → Site Identity → Logo, here from this setting, you can define your brand logo before site comes live.

Here in this step, the Setup Wizard is going to install Theme Options. Keep the backup of Mailchimp code to create MailChimp form. When done press Continue.

Now every configuration is ready. Just read the theme license and agreement and select Agree and Continue.

Demo Like Installation with Quickstart Pack Back To Top

Themehippo developer ship another powerful tool to quickly setup your website like the official demo of Velvet Theme. Before following the step below open a support ticket to request your Velvet-quickstart.zip first.

Open a Support Ticket

The process is the same as you install fresh WordPress in your server. Before following the step below download Velvet-quickstart.zip first.

After downloading the theme, place and unzip Velvet-quickstart.zip file in your server root. Suppose, you have a domain themehippo.com. Log into the domain through the URL. If you’ve successfully placed the theme files in your website root, the following screen comes up. Select your desired language and press Continue.

As we configured everything, you don’t need to open wp-config-sample.php and add your Database name, username, password and host manually. We’ll allow you to place these information form with an input form. Skip this step and Click Let’s go.

Now create a Database and fill the Database Name, Username, Password, Host with the information. When you’ve done, select Submit button.

If you see the following message, It means you’ve successfully provided the server information. It’s ready to establish a connection between your WordPress site and database. So, simply hit Run the Install button.

In this turn, you have to provide your site and admin login information. Don't forget to add a strong password and unguessable username except setting as admin. When done, select WordPress Install button.

The success page indicates that your website is ready to go live. From this screen either you can head to the site frontend or backend.

Color Preset Setting Back To Top

Preset Setting allows you control the entire color settings. Before adding a new change in color setting, make sure you have enabled LESS Compiler first.

Preset Setting allows you control the entire color settings with an enriched graphical interface. From the preset setting page you can change Color Presets, Body Background Image, Body Background Color, Theme Base Color, Content Background Color, Content Color, Menu Color, Header Color, Footer Background Color, and Footer Text Color. Access the Preset Setting page from the following instruction.

  • Navigate to Velvet Options >> Preset Settings

Blog Settings Back To Top

Blog Settings allow you to add Blog Subtitle and Related Post Heading, choose Blog Layout, hide or show sidebar from the single post, post navigation, related post and enabled Blog Pagination or Navigation. Access the Preset Setting page from the following instruction.

  • Login To the WordPress Dashboard.
  • Navigate to Velvet Options >> Blog Settings

Note: Selecting your desired blog layout and adding other personalized blog based changes, press Saves Changes to save new typography settings for your site.

Back To Top Back To Top

Back to Top allows visitors to quickly come back to the site hero area from the bottom of a page. With Velvet, you will find Back To Top functionality enable by default. You can turn it Off or On from the theme option.

  • Login To the WordPress Dashboard.
  • Navigate to Velvet Options >> General Settings >> Back To Top

So, when you are on General Setting page, select Show or Hide button and click Save Changes.
